ExpatCove

Privacy Policy

Expat Cove is a content website. We do not sell your personal data. We collect very little: only what you send us by email, plus standard, privacy-respecting analytics. This page explains exactly what happens to your information.

Who we are

Expat Cove ("we", "us") operates the website at expatcove.com. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@expatcove.com.

What we collect

  • Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. We don't use it for anything else.
  • Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site securely. We may use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics to understand which guides are read — without tracking you across other sites.
  • We do not run user accounts, newsletters with hidden tracking, or sell data to third parties.

Cookies and affiliate links

Our own site uses few or no non-essential cookies. However, some links on our guides are affiliate links: when you click one and visit a partner (for example an insurer or bank), that partner may set a cookie to credit us if you become a customer. This costs you nothing and does not change the price you pay. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. See our affiliate disclosure for details.

Third-party links

We link to official government sources and to partner services. Once you leave Expat Cove, the privacy policy of that website applies — we are not responsible for how third parties handle your data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Since we hold almost nothing beyond emails you send us, this is usually simple — just email hello@expatcove.com and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
